Its usually some guy who is absolutely terrible at hoops and doesn't even know all the rules but he just plays to stay in shape. You can spot this guy a mile away when you walk onto the court because 9 times out of 10 hes the only one in a basketball jersey and its usually two sizes too small. They are best known for throwing elbows during rebounds and playing every pickup game like its the final four. Also if the guys not rocking a knee brace that's at least twelve years old then hes not a true bruiser.
For the most part Bruisers usually keep to themselves when on the court unless you decide its time to call a foul on them. Well, then they usually call you a pussy under their breath, even though your front tooth is loose and your lip is now bleeding.

My buddy's Uncle Horcher is a prime example. This dude rocked a mullet, jean shorts, and mid calf socks to every family party of Johns I ever attended. We always hooped at these parties and he would pound me into the pavement at least five times a game in Johns driveway. I was 12 and Horcher was like 41 with elbows of steel.
Doesn't this guy usually rock a head band as well and he never wants to sit out a game.
This defined my college roommate because
1.) he never let anyone dunk against his team even if that meant putting them in the hospital or sprinting down the court when the guy had a wide open dunk to take him out,
2.) you know he's that guy when a guy on the other team say's "alright, we are playing prison rules," and my roommate yells out "ALRIGHT, YOU GOT ME!"
Best way to keep a bruiser out of the game if there is more than 10....Shoot 3's for teams....he will bitch and want to shoot free throws cause he knows his J is busted. It will keep him out for 1 game at least...
Out of the rec league all stars, who was the bruiser? Throwing Bows AC was a banger but had some athleticism so count him out. Bo the Show always played with intensity but didn't completely fit the bruiser mold. Lil Rodney had it in his heart, but not his genetics.
